HazAssist is not an emergency response service. In an active emergency, call your local emergency services (e.g., 911 in the US) immediately. This tool does not replace professional emergency management, government advisories, or official first responders.
By accessing or using HazAssist ("Service"), operated by Disaster Operations Group LLC ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
HazAssist is an AI-powered preparedness planning tool that provides location-based hazard risk assessments, emergency plan templates, supply kit guidance, and communications planning resources. The Service is intended to supplement — not replace — professional advice, government emergency management resources, and official first responder services.
Plans, risk assessments, and recommendations are generated by large language models (Google Gemini). AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information, or errors. The information provided reflects the model's training data and is not a real-time situational awareness tool.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and adapting any generated content against current official sources before acting on it. Do not make life-safety decisions based solely on AI-generated output.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any information provided will be accurate, complete, or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Disaster Operations Group LLC, its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including personal injury, property damage, or loss of life — arising from your use of, or reliance on, this Service or any content it generates, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to use the Service lawfully, responsibly, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for verifying all generated content against authoritative official sources before acting on it.
You may not use the Service to: disseminate false or misleading emergency information; engage in any activity that could cause harm to others; attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service; or use it in any manner that violates applicable law.
Location queries you enter and optional feedback you submit are processed to generate assessments and to improve the Service. We use anonymous authentication through Firebase and do not require you to create a personal account. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. By using the Service, you consent to the limited collection and processing of data as necessary to operate and improve the Service. See our Privacy Policy.
The Service integrates third-party platforms including Google Gemini (AI generation), Firebase (authentication and data storage), and Google Maps (location visualization). Your use of these integrations is also governed by the respective providers' terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of those third-party services. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service — including but not limited to its source code, user interface, design, graphics, branding, and all other components — are the exclusive property of Disaster Operations Group LLC. Content you create within the app (your specific plans and notes) remains your own. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the Service without our express written permission.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Disaster Operations Group LLC is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
